In Remembrance...Don Boeger 1960-2013

Donald Anthony Boeger, 52 years old, passed away at his home near Marsing on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Don's family will hold a viewing on Tuesday, May 7th from 4PM to7PM at Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel, 415 12th Ave S and a Celebration of Don's life on Wednesday, May 8th at 3PM at the Nampa Civic Center, 311 3rd Street South. Dinner following. Services are under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Don was born June 20, 1960 in Walnut Creek, California. He was the 2nd child of Garry Boeger and Joann Donaldson (Polk). After graduating from Concord High School in California, Don married Monica Pelzl (Stringer) and they moved to Oreana, Idaho with his mom and dad. During the time that they lived in Oreana, Don's two precious daughters, Brandee and Amanda were born. Don cherished every opportunity to bond with his daughters and their love was like no other. The pride Don had in his daughters was immeasurable. They were his world.
In 1998 Don's dear friend's, Kathy and Corrina Tuttle, introduced him to the love of his life, Carmen Lizaso. Don and Carmen fell in love and in March 2000 Don became Carmen's catch of a lifetime. In their much too short time together, they built their relationship, unforgettable friendships and continued - even stronger together - in their family bonds. Don and Carmen were in the process of building their future, achieving their goals together and completing long anticipated projects filled with their love. When introducing Don to new friends, Carmen always jokingly introduced him to the "luckiest man you'll ever meet", knowing all the time that he made her the luckiest woman.
In 2005, Don's youngest daughter Amanda married Beau Hamilton and in 2006 Don's oldest daughter, Brandee married Ricky Brittell. Two of Don's proudest moments - walking his daughter's down the aisle. Don gained two sons from these marriages and their relationships were very close and very comfortable. In his bond with Carmen, Don led by example, how to be a great husband and with his relationship with Brandee and Amanda, how to be a loving father. From these marriages, came Don's three granddaughters, the most cherished treasures by any man, Marlee Raye Hamilton, Aubree Dawn Hamilton and Charlee Ann Marie Brittell.
Don enjoyed spending weekends with the girls hiking, fishing, 4 wheeling, slumber partying and pushing the little girls on their tire swing. He loved his granddaughters beyond belief - and he made sure they knew it every time they were together. And the three little girls loved their 'crap-pa' and will miss him forever.
Everyone who knows Don knows about his passion for bass fishing, but his fishing started as a little boy with his mom and dad and grandparents fishing for trout on the banks of Lake Almanor in Chester, California. Don's love for the outdoors was a family event at any opportunity throughout his entire life. He was lucky enough to fish in many amazing locations from Alaska to Mexico, California to Tennessee. He hunted and fished as often as possible with many great mentors. Don took his dad tournament fishing with his great friends from his bass club, The Idaho Bassmasters, just days before his death at his "home lake" CJ Strike, and he was thrilled to come home and report that his dad whooped his butt. The relationships forged from fishing never ceased to amaze those who loved Don the most. He could not go anywhere without running into a fellow fisherman and their small talk always included a quick fishing report.
Twice Don achieved what he called his 'fishing goal of a lifetime' - to fish in the TBF National Championship. In April 2011 Don fished at Lake Nickajack in Tennessee and went on to fish in the BFL All American on Cross Lake in Louisiana. In April 2012, Don proudly repeated the National Championship achievement and fished at Bull Shoals Lake on the Arkansas/Missouri border.
Along with being a sportsman, Don was a very hard-working man who proudly purchased and grew his successful excavation business with the help and support of many friends through the years.
Don is survived by his forever grateful wife, Carmen, his children, Brandee, Ricky, Amanda and Beau, his treasured granddaughters, Marlee, Aubree and Charlee, parents, Garry Boeger and Jim & Joann Polk, siblings big brother Larry Boeger, Marie Lizaso & Steve Herring, Tony and Dan Lizaso, his mother and father-in-law Pete and Louise Lizaso, nephews Bert "B" Smith and Joey Lizaso, niece Allison Lizaso. Uncles and Aunts, Aunt Sue Boeger, Uncle Jack and Aunt Froni Boeger, Uncle Wayne Boeger, Uncle Julio and Tia Julie Bilbao, Uncle Joe and Aunt Jo Yrazabal.
Don was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Marie Donaldson, Tony and Sally Boeger, Juanita Lizaso and Alice Egurrola, his Uncle Rob and Aunt Darlene.
Don had hundreds of friends who touched his life. Special thank you from his family to those who changed all of their lives - Dennis Udlenik, Bruce and Patty Cameron, Tony and Tammy Shuyler, Jon and Heather Burton, Cody and Josie Murray, Stacy and Michle' (Stinky) Mowry, Brad and Tammy Maxey, Dawn and Mitch Pearce, Craig and Loretta Kingsbury, Eric and Vicki White, Scott and Martina Boeger. A special message for Tony, BJ, Jose, Kurt, Summer and Aaron - keep making the dirt perfect and keep your eyes open for the white pipe!
Thank you to all of Don's friends in the Bass Fishing community and our family at the Nampa Police Department for the outpouring of love. Don would have been humbled.

Topics of discussion will include the CJ Strike Results and Payouts; May Owyhee Reservoir tournament planning and (drum roll) Share A Technique-Chris Felty(CJ Strike Winner!!)
